Zeiver was developed by James Bilson and Clayton Patterson in collaboration with Dr John Walters, an Oxford PhD biochemist and the founder and distiller at The English Spirit Distillery
Inspired by Japanese spirits, we choose polished rice to give Zeiver an ultra-smooth palate, even at 47% ABV.
Our bespoke base rice is sourced from Niigata Prefecture, Japan, which is world renowned for taste and quality.
When it comes to high-quality gin, water is a crucial factor.
That's why we opted for the best. Zeiver uses water filtered through reverse osmosis, which is 3x purer than Evian water..
Zeiver is very mouth filling, dry to off-dry and with powerful yet delicate intensity. The 47% lacks harshness and avoids the dreaded ‘burn’ on the throat.
The texture is what’s particularly intriguing – crisp, clean and smooth and not like anything I can put my finger on that I’ve tried before.
Impressively smooth. It's a decidedly clean, fresh and crisp spirit that is delicate and subtle, making it highly versatile for cocktails.
Thing is though it absolutely is unique… Everything about this gin is different and helps it to stand out. I urge you to go buy some!
The macadamia comes through in a strong way for me at the midpoint, towards the end, there is a spice even peppery tingle at the back. to get this characteristic with the botanicals used is wizardry.
I've not seen such a diverse mix of ingredients within one gin. I’m impressed. It’s hard not to be!
